Dad is refinishing an antique record player/cabinet to add to my furniture collection (pictures to come)...and Geoff started me on my next addiction, collecting records to fill it. Excited. I saw holy fuck at the bluebird a few months(?) ago, and was amazed to say the least. The band's artist/photographer, James Mejia's work is insanely inspiring, as well.

my birthday present is mean. i haven't rode a bike in about 1o years, and it was painfully obvious. geoff and i rode a few miles(?) aimlessly, and then to the park on sunday night. on monday, i felt like my crotch was broken, my palms were bruised, and my knuckles still white. it was a hell of alot of fun, though. i'm just getting used to it again, so it will take a while for me to be completely comfortable, but i'm excited. its an old vintage schwinn womens road bike with cruiser handlebars (bright pink grips)!
i also recieved about 60 exposures of polaroid film! aahhhhhhwoooo!

sometimes i like to yell/growl outside in the early am. maybe a little dance sometimes. i may or may not have done so this morning...i did. i am twenty three today! the envelope above was a gift from a fav coworker i like to call the golden condor (pictured top; far right). he is an awesome guy who makes themed envelopes for friends on their birthdays, and my 'lopes theme is art...because i like it! and i like the condor! i also like that some great pals joined me in my quest for chicken, and i got a free lunch. mmhmn. leaving tomorrow for the 'ol bearcat getaway(!) no work/stress until tuesday. this weekend should be epic.

one of my best friends from high school, jen (naes) forester, got hitched on saturday. i made her a collage to go along with her gift + wanted to share. there was no time to scan since i made this the day of, but here are the lame photos. jen always talked about living in the city and with her getting married, she has a 'new view' so to speak...and because she will most likely be staying in festus, here is her view of the city. dangerously cheesy, i am aware. :| this is framed between 2 pieces of glass, and when held upright you can see the type coming through the cityscape. oh and i collaged a little 'mf08' in the bottom right corner. :) really wish i would have just scanned this...

I received a nice message from my oldest friend today, Bethany Meyers, and it made me smile. I thought I would share. We grew up neighbors on spruce street, and shared everything. She's the best. We eventually took our own paths, but have always found ways to keep in touch. Beth lives in Chicago now and works for Lululemon Athletica in public relations, and is a beautiful little lady that I am proud to call my friend. :)

We would pump our legs so hard until the chains on the swing would let up a little and I'm sure we both imagined what would happen if we went so high that we flipped over the bar. After being introduced to some of the techniques, tools, and machinery involved in the fine art of printmaking, it wasn't long before i was completely enamored. I will never forget how fast Mr. P.Shuck jumped up when I cut my thumb with the knife tool. He practically threw me over his shoulder to get me to the campus nurse before showering me with antiseptic and band-aids. I don't believe I have ever seen a grumpy old man so disturbed and concerned in all my life. I really liked him after that day.

Below are some pieces that i took from that class... the first being the one that wrecked my thumb.

Just reminiscing a bit, It has been far too long. :| ...Hopefully the plan of building a mini print studio in my basement pans out this summer, and i will have more to share. :) [chipbff + burrito destroyer, no pressure] xoox|mf
